Mr. Doyle, Michael F. moved to suspend the rules and pass the bill, as amended. H.R. 5035 — "To amend the Communications Act of 1934 to extend expiring provisions relating to the retransmission of signals of television broadcast stations, and for other purposes."

The Speaker announced that votes on suspensions, if ordered, will be postponed until a time to be announced.

DEBATE - The House proceeded with one hour of debate on H. Res. 748.

Considered as privileged matter. H. Res. 748 — "Providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 729) to amend the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 to authorize grants to Indian Tribes to further achievement of Tribal coastal zone objectives, and for other purposes."

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Mr. Thompson of PA to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
