The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on February 13, 2017, at 10:11 a.m. that the Senate agreed to H. Con. Res. 18 and appointment- National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity.

The Speaker announced that the House do now recess. The next meeting is scheduled for 4:30 P.M. today.

ADJUSTMENT OF WHOLE HOUSE - Under clause 5(d) of rule 20, the Chair announced to the House that, in light of the resignation of the gentleman from Georgia, Mr. Tom Price, the whole number of the House is 432.

The House received a communication from Representative Price, Tom (GA) wherein he resigns as a member of the House of Representatives effective at 9:00 a.m. on February 10, 2017.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Mr. Poe of TX to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

The Speaker announced approval of the Journal. Pursuant to clause 1, rule I, the Journal stands approved.

Today's prayer was offered by the House Chaplain, Rev. Patrick J. Conroy.

The House convened, returning from a recess continuing the legislative day of February 13.

MORNING-HOUR DEBATE - The House proceeded with Morning-Hour Debate. At the conclusion of Morning-Hour, the House will recess until 2:00 p.m. for the start of legislative business.

A resolution designating February 6 through 10, 2017, as "National School Counseling Week". (02/10/2017 legislative day)

Western Hemisphere Drug Policy Commission - Pursuant to section 603 of the Department of State Authorities Act, FY 2017(Public Law 114-323), and the order of the House of January 3, 2017, the Speaker appointed Ms. Mary Bono, Washington, DC.
