The House received a communication from The Honorable Paul D. Irving, Sergeant at Arms. Pursuant to section 1(b)(2) of H. Res. 965, following consultation with the Office of Attending Physician, Mr. Irving notified the House that the public health emergency due to the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 remains in effect.

ONE MINUTE SPEECHES - The House proceeded with one minute speeches, which by direction of the Chair would be limited to 15 per side of the aisle.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Mr. Thompson of PA to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Commission on Combating Synthetic Opioid Trafficking - Pursuant to Section 7221(b)(1)(A)(x) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 (Public Law 116-92), the Republican Leader appointed the following member of the House to the Commission on Combating Synthetic Opioid Trafficking: Mr. Upton.
