Disapproving the rule submitted by the Department of Labor relating to drug testing of unemployment compensation applicants. (03/13/2017 legislative day)

The House received a communication from Paul D. Irving, Sergeant at Arms. The Sergeant-at-Arms notified the House that the time previously appointed for the next meeting of the House was going to be 12:00 p.m. on March 14, 2017, for Morning Hour debate. Pursuant to clause 12(c) of rule I, he notified the House of an imminent impairment of the place of reconvening at that time. The impairment is due to severe weather. Subsequently, the Chair announced that the rescheduling of the time of meeting for the House at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 had been communicated to the Members.

The Speaker announced that the House do now recess pursuant to section 12(c) of rule I. The next meeting is subject to the call of the Chair.

UNITED STATES HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL COUNCIL - Pursuant to 36 U.S.C 2302 and the order of the House of January 3, 2017, the Speaker appointed the following members of the House to the UNITED STATES HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL COUNCIL: Mr. Deutch and Mr. Schneider.

The House adjourned pursuant to a previous special order. The next meeting is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on March 14, 2017.
