GENERAL DEBATE - The Committee of the Whole proceeded with one hour of general debate on H.R. 1309.

The Speaker designated the Honorable Sheila Jackson Lee to act as Chairwoman of the Committee.

House resolved itself into the Committee of the Whole House on the state of the Union pursuant to H. Res. 713 and Rule XVIII.

Rule provides for consideration of H.R. 1309 with 1 hour of general debate. Previous question shall be considered as ordered without intervening motions except motion to recommit with or without instructions. Measure will be considered read. Specified amendments are in order. Also provides for proceedings during the period from November 22, 2019 through December 2, 2019 and for consideration of motions to suspend the rules.

Considered under the provisions of rule H. Res. 713. H.R. 1309 — "To direct the Secretary of Labor to issue an occupational safety and health standard that requires covered employers within the health care and social service industries to develop and implement a comprehensive workplace violence prevention plan, and for other purposes."
