DEBATE - The House proceeded with forty minutes of debate on H.R. 375.

Mr. Barletta moved to suspend the rules and pass the bill. H.R. 375 — "To designate the Federal building and United States courthouse located at 719 Church Street in Nashville, Tennessee, as the "Fred D. Thompson Federal Building and United States Courthouse"."

At the conclusion of debate, the Yeas and Nays were demanded and ordered. Pursuant to the provisions of clause 8, rule XX, the Chair announced that further proceedings on the motion would be postponed.

Mrs. Radewagen moved to suspend the rules and pass the bill. H.R. 1362 — "To name the Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Pago Pago, American Samoa, the Faleomavaega Eni Fa'aua'a Hunkin VA Clinic."

The Speaker announced that votes on suspensions, if ordered, will be postponed until a time to be announced.

The House convened, returning from a recess continuing the legislative day of March 7.

Disapproving the rule submitted by the Department of the Interior relating to Bureau of Land Management regulations that establish the procedures used to prepare, revise, or amend land use plans pursuant to the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976. (03/07/2017 legislative day)

The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on March 7, 2017, at 9:29 a.m. that the Senate agreed to H.J. Res. 37 and appointment: Members of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe.
