HONORABLE LOUISE MCINTOSH SLAUGHTER'S FUNERAL - Pursuant to House Resolution 788, and the order of the House of January 3, 2017, the Speaker on March 19, 2018, appointed the following Members of the House to the committee to attend the funeral of the late Honorable Louise McIntosh Slaughter: Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Nadler, Ms. Velazquez, Ms. Clarke of New York, Mr. Higgins of New York, Mr. Hoyer, Mr. Levin, Mr. Lewis of Georgia, Ms. DeLauro, Ms. Maxine Waters of California, Ms. Eshoo, Mr. Hastings, Ms. Jackson Lee, Ms. DeGette, Mr. McGovern, Mr. Sessions, Ms. Lee, Mrs. Napolitano, Mrs. Davis of California, Ms. Sanchez, Mr. Gohmert, Ms. Moore, Ms. Matsui, Ms. Castor of Florida, Mr. Johnson of Georgia, Ms. Tsongas, Mr. Cicilline, Mr. Cartwright, Mr. Kildee, Mr. Takano, Ms. Clark of Massachusetts, and Mr. Evans.

The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on March 23, 2018 at 1:41 p.m.: That the Senate passed S. 269, S. 292, S. 607, S. 943, S. 1091, S. 1116, S. 1223; that the Senate agreed to the House amendment to S. 772; and passed H.R. 4547.

Today's prayer was offered by Rev. John Vidal, St. Luke's Catholic Church, Washington, DC.

Pursuant to section 2(a) of H. Res. 796, the Journal of the last day's proceedings was approved.

The Speaker announced that the House do now adjourn pursuant to section 2(b) of H. Res. 796. The next meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on March 29, 2018.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair led the House in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

The Speaker designated the Honorable Thomas J. Rooney to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.

The House convened, starting a new legislative day.

The Speaker announced that the House do now adjourn pursuant to section 2(b) of H. Res. 796. The next meeting is schedule for 4:00 p.m. on March 26, 2018.

The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on March 23, 2018, at 8:52 a.m.: that the Senate agreed to H. Con. Res. 116, with amendment and the Senate agreed to the House amendment to the Senate amendment to H.R. 1625.

The Speaker designated the Honorable Jodey C. Arrington to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.
