The Speaker announced that the House do now adjourn pursuant to section 5(b) of H. Res. 908. The next meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on May 29, 2018.

The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on May 24, 2018 at 12:22 p.m.: That the Senate passed S. 916, S. 1333 and S. 2178.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair led the House in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

SPEAKER'S APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL - Pursuant to section 5(a) of H. Res. 908, the Journal of the last day's proceedings was approved.

Today's prayer was offered by Rev. Andrew Walton, Trinity Presbyterian Church, Clearwater, FL.

The Speaker designated the Honorable Christopher H. Smith to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.

The House convened, starting a new legislative day.

ASSUMING FIRST SPONSORSHIP - Mr. Brendan F. Boyle (PA) asked unanimous consent that he may hereafter be the first sponsor of H.R. 1094, a bill originally introduced by Representative Slaughter, for the purpose of adding cosponsors and requesting reprintings pursuant to clause 7 of rule XII. Agreed to without objection.

Mr. Culberson asked unanimous consent that the Committee on Appropriations have until 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018, to file a privileged report to accompany measures making appropriations for the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2019, and for other purposes.

Mr. Culberson filed a report from the Committee on Appropriations on H.R. 5952.
