Considered as unfinished business. H. Res. 52 — "Providing for consideration of the joint resolution (H.J. Res. 28) making further continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2019, and for other purposes, and providing for consideration of motions to suspend the rules."

Permanet Select Committee on Intelligence - Pursuant to clause 11 of rule X, clause 11 of rule I, and the order of the House of January 3, 2019, the Speaker appointed the following member of the House to the Permanet Select Committee on Intelligence: Mr. Welch.

The House convened, returning from a recess continuing the legislative day of January 17.

POSTPONED PROCEEDINGS - At the conclusion of debate on H. Res. 52, the Chair put the question on agreeing to resolution and by voice vote, announced that the ayes had prevailed. Ms. Scanlon demanded the yeas and nays and the Chair postponed further proceedings on agreeing to H. Res. 52 until later in the legislative day.

The Speaker announced that the House do now recess for a period of less than 15 minutes.

The previous question was ordered without objection.

SPEAKER'S APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL - The Chair announced that she had examined the Journal of the last day's proceedings and had approved it. Mr. Schneider demanded that the question be put on agreeing to the Speaker's approval of the Journal and by voice vote, the Chair announced that the ayes had prevailed. Mr. Schneider objected to the voice vote based upon the absence of a quorum and the Chair postponed further proceedings on the question of the Speaker's approval of the Journal until later in the legislative day.
