SPEAKER'S APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL - Pursuant to section 2(a) of H. Res. 1012, the Journal of the last day's proceedings was approved.

Today's prayer was offered by Rev. Michael Wilker, Lutheran Church of the Reformation, Washington, DC

The Speaker designated the Honorable Ted Poe to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.

The House convened, starting a new legislative day.

The House received a communication from The Honorable Chris Collins. Mr. Collins(NY) requested to be temporarily removed from his position on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and fully intends to resume his position as an active member of the committee upon successful resolution of pending legal matters. The resignation was accepted without objection.

The Speaker announced that the House do now adjourn pursuant to section 2(b) of H. Res. 1012. The next meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on August 14, 2018.

The House received a communication from Michael Francis, Veterans Liaison, Office of Rep. Frank A. LoBiondo. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Francis notified the House that he had been served with a subpoena for documents issued by the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he would make the determinations required by Rule VIII.
