POSTPONED PROCEEDINGS - Pursuant to clause 1(c) of Rule 19, the Chair postponed further proceedings on H.R. 2722.

DEBATE - The House proceeded with one hour of debate on H.R. 2722.

Rule provides for consideration of H.R. 2722 and H.R. 3351. The resolution provides for consideration of H.R. 2722 under a closed rule with one hour of general debate. Also, the resolution provides for consideration of H.R. 3351 under a structured rule with one hour of general debate.

Considered under the provisions of rule H. Res. 460. H.R. 2722 — "To protect elections for public office by providing financial support and enhanced security for the infrastructure used to carry out such elections, and for other purposes."

ONE MINUTE SPEECHES - The House proceeded with one minute speeches, which by direction of the Chair, would be limited to 5 per side of the aisle.

SPEAKER'S APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL - The Chair announced that she had examined the Journal of the last day's proceedings and had approved it. Ms. Pingree demanded that the question be put on agreeing to the Speaker's approval of the Journal and by voice vote, the Chair announced that the ayes had prevailed. Ms. Pingree demanded the Yeas and Nays and the Chair announced that further proceedings on the question of agreeing to the Speaker's approval of the Journal would be postponed until later in the legislative day.

Mr. McGovern filed a report from the Committee on Rules on H. Res. 466.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Mr. Brown of MD to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Today's prayer was offered by the House Chaplain, Rev. Patrick J. Conroy.

The Speaker designated the Honorable Veronica Escobar to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.
