The Speaker designated the Honorable Roger W. Marshall to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.

The House received a communication from The Honorable Bill Shuster, Chairman, Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. Mr. Shuster notified the House that on April 12, 2018, pursuant to section 3307 of Title 40, United States Code, the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure met in open session to consider 16 resolutions included in the General Service Administration's Capital Investment and Leasing Programs and that the Committee continues to work to reduce the cost of federal property leases. The 16 resolutions considered include 11 lease prospectuses, four special emphasis program prospectuses, and one acquisition and represent $71 million in savings from avoided lease costs and space reductions. Referred to the Committee on Appropriations and ordered to be printed.

SPECIAL ORDER SPEECHES - The House has concluded all anticipated legislative business and has proceeded to Special Order speeches.

Mr. McCarthy asked unanimous consent That when the House adjourns on Friday, April 13, 2018, it adjourn to meet on Monday, April 16, 2018, when it shall convene at noon for morning-hour debate and 2 p.m. for legislative business. Agreed to without objection.
