The Speaker announced that the House do now adjourn pursuant to 7(b) of H. Res. 758. The next meeting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on December 26, 2019.

The House received a message from the Senate. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on December 23, 2019, at 10:10 a.m.: That the Senate passed S. 221, S. 439, S. 1029, S. 1309, S. 1434, S. 1608, S. 2096, S. 3147; that the Senate passed H.R. 1424, H.R. 2385, and H.R. 2476 without amendment; and that the Senate passed H.R. 550 with an amendment.

The House received a message from the Senate. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on December 19, 2019, at 5:17 p.m.: That the Senate agreed to H. Con. Res. 81 and H. Con. Res. 82, and that the Senate agreed to the House amendment to the Senate amendment to H.R. 1158.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair led the House in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

SPEAKER'S APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL - Pursuant to section 7(a) of H. Res. 758, the Journal of the last day's proceedings was approved.

The House received a communication from the Honorable Jim Jordan. Mr. Jordan submitted his resignation from the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. The resignation was accepted without objection.
