Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on August 20, 2018, at 10:30 a.m.: That the Senate agreed to S. Res. 609.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair led the House in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

SPEAKER'S APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL - Pursuant to section 2(a) of H. Res. 1012, the Journal of the last day's proceedings was approved.

Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Roman notified the House that he had been served with a grand jury subpoena for testimony, issued by the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and that after consultation with counsel, he will make the determinations required by Rule VIII.

Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on August 16, 2018 at 12:08 p.m.: That the Senate agreed to the amendment of the House of Representatives to the bill S. 717.
