ONE MINUTE SPEECHES - The House proceeded with one minute speeches, which by direction of the Chair, would be limited to 10 per side of the aisle.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Mr. Pallone to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

The Speaker announced approval of the Journal. Pursuant to clause 1, rule I, the Journal stands approved.

Today's prayer was offered by the House Chaplain, Rev. Patrick J. Conroy.

WORDS TAKEN DOWN - During the course of debate on H. Res. 708, exception was taken to certain words used and a demand was made to have words taken down. Subsequently, unanimous consent was granted to withdraw the words in question and debate continued under regular order.

Mr. Cole moved to table the motion to appeal the ruling of the chair

Mr. Perlmutter appealed the ruling of the chair. The question was then put on sustaining the ruling of the chair.

POINT OF ORDER - During the course of debate, exception was taken to the use of an exhibit used. The Chair viewed the exhibit and found that the exhibit did not constitute a breach of decorum.
